Internal Recognition Designs
The Challenge: It began with a request to create a memorable design that would hold meaning for employees. Company founder and CEO Ron Cohen had nine guiding principles and values that shaped the company. Drawing inspiration from these nine statements, I designed a typographic piece that was dynamic, bold, and iconic—something employees were proud to display. The '15' was designed first, and its success led to the concept being used again for the 20-year milestone.
Left: An acrylic award plaque for 15-year employees. Right: A poster featuring hand-lettered testimonials from individuals whose health has been transformed by the medication.
Manufacturing Desire
Objective: Winner of the 2018 American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA, the 'Gift of 20' award branding and materials were designed to celebrate employees' 20th anniversaries at Acorda Therapeutics with a beautifully packaged gift set that became the envy of many employees.
FDA Approved Designs for Drug Packaging and Instructions for Use
Approach: Inbrija™ is a prescription medication designed to treat the return of Parkinson’s symptoms (OFF periods) by delivering levodopa powder through a specialized inhaler. I designed the FDA-approved blister packaging, instructions for use (including illustrations), and other supporting materials. Observing user-testing participants interact with the device and instruction booklet while experiencing Parkinson’s symptoms was instrumental in shaping the final design solution.
Environmental Graphics at Corporate Campus
Concept & Strategy: Create imagery that initiates the brand conversation from the far edge of the parking lot. The displayed words represent the company’s nine principles and values. The photo on the left showcases typography spanning the cafeteria and second-floor gathering space, while the photo on the right highlights the entryway desk and the main hall leading to the elevators.
Annual Report, Printed Book and Digital Animation
The Challenge: Showcase the company’s extensive drug research pipeline, dedicated entirely to neurological disorders. Each colored line represents a drug therapy. After Effects was used to bring the static illustration to life as a dynamic, moving piece.
Annual Report, Printed Book and Digital Animation
Objective: Humanize the brand. Pre-commercial drug names can feel impersonal, so the company wanted to emphasize who they are working for—the person whose life could be improved by these therapies. Thus, 'Life. Science.' was born: two separate words, two ideas inextricably linked at the heart of a life sciences company."

Informational Brochure and Custom Box
The Challenge: Design a self-standing box to hold brochures for display in a medical office. I designed a fully custom-made box that stood out among the many other displays on the table. The brochure’s top tabs and rounded page corners subtly echo the shape of the drug capsules, reinforcing brand identity.

"I Walk Because" National Events
The Brief: The 'I Walk Because' theme was created to give a meaningful voice to the consumer communities, along with their families and friends. At Multiple Sclerosis awareness walks sponsored by Acorda, t-shirts featuring a speech bubble were given to participants. They were encouraged to write why they were walking or who they were thinking of during the walk. The shirts on the right are samples of the corporate Acorda MS Walk shirts I designed and illustrated.
Live Well Do Tell Website and Graphics
The Challenge: During a conference, valuable insights were gathered from individuals with Parkinson's disease, their care partners, and healthcare professionals. A clear communication gap emerged. The question became: How can we share this information to improve care? I was tasked to address this, engaging graphics and a dedicated website were developed as resources to bridge these gaps and foster better dialogue and understanding among all parties.

"Life. Science." Advertisements.
The Approach: Further develop the 'Life. Science.' campaign by emphasizing the human side of the brand—highlighting employees and the company’s engagement with the community. The photo on the left shows a lab technician at work, while the right features Jason DaSilva, a filmmaker who documented his life with multiple sclerosis. DaSilva also leads AXS Map, in collaboration with Acorda and Google. AXS Map charts cities and provides a mobile app to help users find wheelchair-accessible places to visit, while also highlighting areas to avoid.
